Brighlingsea SC last hosted a masters qualifier event in June 2013 when Alan Davis emerged victorious in a fresh breeze regatta. Can he repeat the feat again this year and become the undisputed 'King of Essex'?
The event should serve as an ideal warm up for the Masters Nationals taking place just 5 weeks later at Pevensey. The venue is approximately 70 mins drive from central London, near the town of Colchester. The sailing waters on the mouth of the Colne estuary are windy most of the year, but rarely exposed to the full extent of an easterly breeze.
Sailors will receive a complimentary bacon roll and tea / coffee on arrival, included in the entry fee of £40, and there will be a meal at the club on the Saturday night. The legendary Jazz Folkers are rumoured to be attending!
Six races will be scheduled over two days for Standard and Radial rigs.
