Racing updatesNewsEarly Training at PYC There is a regatta taking place in the triangle area of Poole Harbour on Thursday and Friday. Please do not set up training in this area. (30/08/2018) Notice fro the IOCA Selectors The Class has received an invite to enter a team in the 31st Edition of the Opti Team Cup at Potsdamer Yacht Club, Wannsee, Berlin. This is a high quality event with a wide range of international teams. (30/08/2018) Parking at PYC The vehicle parking at PYC for the LSC 18 is in the Harbour commissioners parking which is about 200meters from the from gate of PYC. PYC have arrange prepaid parking tickets at total cost of £19.00. This includes a refundable deposit of £5.00 for the card. The parking cards will be available at the PYC gate on Saturday morning. Please have £19.00 in CASH available when you arrive. There is no mobile card machine at the gate. The PYC gate will be open for arrival until 8.30pm on Friday and from 7.30pm on Saturday morning. (20/08/2018) Early arrival for sailing on Friday If you are arriving early to go sailing on Friday at PYC for the LSC 18 all sailors and coaches must report to the PYC office before going afloat. (15/08/2018) Volunteers need ashore and afloat The Late Summer Championship 2108, like all other IOCA (UK) events is entirely run by a team of volunteers. The Planning and Delivery team lead by the Event Co-ordination consisting of the Principal Race Officer, Event Safety Officer and Marketing Officer work prior to the event to ensure that all the preparation are made and in place. To run the event at the weekend there is an The Event Team and RIB crews to for mark laying and safety. For the majority of roles there is Team Leader who will supervise and provide training if required. (15/08/2018) On line entry The online entry for the Late Summer Championships 2018 closed on 10 August 18 as the maximum entry of 180 sailors has been reached. (14/08/2018) Entry for the Late Summer Championships The Late Summer event forms part of the IOCA Summer Series that is used for winter training squad selection (the other events are the Inlands and the End of Seasons). Capacity at Poole Yacht Club is limited to 180 main fleet sailors only. For more information on being selected for a Squad have a look at the 2018 - 2019 RYA/IOCA (UK) Squad Selection Policy document on the right under Selection Policies. As such we encourage entry to this event if you are hoping to qualify for a national level winter squad. You should probably not enter if you have not yet participated in an RYA zone squad or Home Country Squad, and it is probably not the event to switch to main fleet for the first time. Please refer to the entry and eligibility criteria in the NOR in order to gain a ranking to quality for a national level winter squad.
