Post-Event Results Queries

Wednesday:

21:45 Updated results have now been posted.

The following boats that were originally given NYF in R4 have now been given positions: 5877, 5869, 5571, 1315, 5799, 5502,5947.

Also in R4 4660 has now been recorded as DNF. 5974 was recorded as NYF and after careful examination of the evidence this remains the case.

In R3 1012 had a position query but after careful examination the posted result stands. Same applies in R5 for 5911, and in R2 for 5602. In R5 5673 was recorded as DNF but has now been given a position.

We have one remaining query re 5904 and we will be looking at this later in the week.

09:00 It is taking longer than anticipated to process the results queries on account of their number and complexity. The work is now almost complete, and we hope to post the final results this evening.

Monday:

We still have some o/s results queries to process and hope to complete these within the next 24 hours or so. Updated results will be uploaded as they become available.

We do not anticipate that any of the o/s queries will affect any of the prize winning positions.

Entries - latest information

The IOCA Spring Championships at Cardiff are proving to be a popular event. Because of the available water area, the maximum fleet size for us to run effective racing is 200 boats, and that limit has been reached, and a number of potential competitors are currently waitlisted.

In order that we maximise everyone’s chance to get to the event, we will now be enforcing the requirement to pay entry fees, in line with our standard conditions, within seven days. Any currently accepted entry where the entry fee remains unpaid at 23:59hrs on Feb 26th will be moved to the waiting list. Entries that are wait listed at that time, but for which entry fees have been paid, will then be moved, in the order they were registered, into any available accepted entry spaces.

Whilst we would prefer to be able to allow unlimited entry, the increase in demand – 25% more than the previous Spring and the recent Winter championships, make this measure necessary.

Provisional Timings

On Saturday 13th, registration will run from 0830.
Briefing at 0930
First race at 1030

It is our intention each day to run 2 races back to back, with a break for lunch then complete the third race. However, if we are unable to complete the first two races to schedule we will run the third race back to back as well. Competitors should therefore be prepared for 3 consecutive races.
Please note that the club galley is unlikely to be able to feed 200 sailors in the available lunch break. Sailors are therefore advised to have their lunch arrangements in place beforehand.

Credit card payments only

In order to reduce the administrative for these events, we would prefer that you pay the entry fee by credit card rather than cheque or cash. There is no processing fee for paying by credit card.

Many thanks
Your event administration team

Event date rescheduled

Following the notices of last week, we are pleased to let you know that we have been able to keep the Spring Championships at Cardiff Bay, now over the weekend of March 13th and 14th. We look forward to seeing you all there!  (04/02/2010)

Rugby may scupper Cardiff as venue

It has come to our attention that on the weekend of Feb 27th, Cardiff will be hosting a Rugby International. This is making accomodation very difficult and expensive to find and in addition it will likely cause delays with travel that weekend.

As a result we are reconsidering venue and dates and members are urged NOT to make any accomodation or travel arrangements that cannot be changed or cancelled at this time. We will inform you all just as soon as we have this resolved.

Thank you for your understanding.
