Lost Property at the End of Seasons

Thankfully no where near the amount of lost property as at the Nationals!

Firstly, I have NO yellow optimum watches in lost property!

LOST
* Did anyone pick up a clear bag of clothing by mistake? If so, please could they contact me as soon as possible. Now found

* Did anyone pick up the wrong sprit whilst packing up on Sunday. The sprit was marked sail number GBR 5558.

FOUND
I do have a jacket, rash top and pair of boots left in the race office. If you think they are yours, please let me know.

Measurement Checks at Registration

Please take time to read the information relating to Measurement Checks at Registration (links on the right hand side). The documents, prepared by Andy Platt, IOCA Technical Officer explain which checks will be made and the process for dealing with items that do not conform.  (10/10/2012)

Volunteers Needed

There are still some pretty bare patches on the volunteer duty rota for the End of Seasons.

At the moment the main fleet sailors will have to cross their legs all day as we have no helpers on the Mothership, and Regatta Fleet will be unable to launch without some volunteers for Tallies. There's also help needed with marks, and on the committee boats (great for getting close to the action!).

Please take a look and see where you might be able to help out.

To all those who have already signed up or who are helping as part of the race management/safety/results teams - THANK YOU - we couldn't do it without you!

Many thanks for your help & see you in Rutland!

There will be a flotilla meeting in the marquee at 1330 on Saturday, where Michelle Gent IOCA Development Officer and Clare Hall IOCA Regional Coaching Manager will be giving an update on the five year plan and how regional development is progressing. It would be great to have as many flotillas as possible represented.

Cadet Dinghy Display & Taster Sail

The Cadet Class will be present during the weekend of the End of Seasons showcasing a fibreglass and a wooden boat, and offering a sail to sailors who would like.

The Cadet is the only double handed dinghy exclusively for junior sailors and has active clubs as well as a strong racing circuit in the UK and internationally.

The Cadet would be a great boat to sail if a sailor wanted to learn about crews and spinnakers prior to moving into the youth classes.

Andrew Shorrock will be around during the weekend, so please appraoch him to find out more abour Cadet Sailin.

Online entry - The process

To streamline the process of entries for the IOCA organised events, the online entry process has been updated. Most efficient way is to use EventAssistant CLUBHOUSE (top right).

  1. In order to remove the requirement for any items to be posted, the system will ask for a confirmation regarding the sailor and parent declarations ('signatures') at the end of the registration process.

  2. Payment will be by credit card and no remittance advice or declaration forms are required nor created in the corresponding emails.

  3. You can update your entry / add your signatures or pay at a later date using the CLUBHOUSE or UPDATE YOUR ENTRY option on the left which will initially require you to apply for a password.

  4. The system will keep your place for seven days after which you will be moved to a holding area for unconfirmed entries. When you pay after 7 days you will rejoin the entry list based on the payment date and not your initial registration date.

Should you have any problems with the online entry system then please get in touch with me on 01844 216 299 (home) or 077898 67 156 (mobile).
