Volunteers Needed

With just a few days until the Winter Championships in Cardiff, there are still a large number of spaces on the Volunteer Rota!

Critical roles for the weekend are Committee/Finish Boat Assistants (new parents welcome!), Launch/Recovery helpers for both slipways.

Any help with the other roles would also be greatly appreciated.

Please volunteer - it will make the weekend run much more smoothly for sailors and parents alike!

Volunteer Here

Most roles require no experience, just a willingness to help out for a couple of hours over the weekend. But, if you'd like any additional information, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

We are aware that there have been some issues with access to the website over the last week. If the website is unavailable, please try again later or drop admin@optimist.org.uk a note with your offer of help.

To all those who have already signed up or who are helping as part of the event organisation/race management/safety/results teams - THANK YOU - we couldn't do it without you!

Change to Notice of Race

The NOR for the Winter Championships has been re-issued with the following changes:

1. Due to the limited number of entries, the Transition fleet has been removed.
2. In order to make best use of the available sailing area at Cardiff, the schedule has been changed to allow a greater number of shorter races.
3. To allow both starts of the last race to be completed, the last signal time is now based on the orange flag rather than the warning signal.

If you have entered and any of these changes affect your decision to attend, please contact admin@optimist.org.uk for a refund.
