Volunteers need ashore and afloat

The Late Summer Championship 2107, like all other IOCA (UK) events is entirely run by a team of volunteers.

The Planning and Delivery team lead by the Event Co-ordination consisting of the Principal Race Officer, Event Safety Officer and Marketing Officer work prior to the event to ensure that all the preparation are made and in place.

To run the event at the weekend there is an The Event Team and RIB crews to for mark laying and safety.

For the majority of roles there is Team Leader who will supervise and provide training if required.

To sign up for the Event Team open the EVENT TEAM SIGN UP SHEET.

To sign up a RIB for the event and to sign up to be a RIB crew open the RIB SIGN UP SHEET.

Arriving early to go sailing

DRSC will be open for sailors wanting to go afloat on Thursday and Friday.

Before going afloat, check in at the IOCA Race Office. There is a launch fee of 10.00 per Optimist and 10.00 per RIB.

Parents are to organise safety cover for sailors going afloat.

There are facilities from camping, campervans and caravans at DRSC, starting in Thursday. Click on the title to make a booking.

The booking form may not have Thursday as an option but camping etc is available.

The Late Summer Championships are being held at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club.

For Sat Nav users the post-code DH8 9PT will usually work, however some Sat Nav's will take you to the otherside of the reservoir with this postcode. (taken from the DRSC website)
